Dr. Hassell is a native of sunny Florida and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida. In 2004, he moved to the District and joined the staff of VCA MacArthur as an Associate Veterinarian. In 2006, he became the Medical Director. Dr. Hassell lives in Northeast D.C. with his wife, a French-trained chef, his two cats named Simon and Phoebe and his dog named Jens.
Dr. Polk completed his undergraduate degree at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He then joined the navy and served for 4 years before being transferred to Washington D.C. Dr. Polk attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical rotations at Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interest are Toxicology and Internal Medicine. In his personal time, Dr. Polk serves in the Navy Reserve Veterinary Corp. He also enjoys running, hiking, and kayaking.
